Backpacks for Christ Project 2011

Backpacks for Christ is a Christmas community outreach effort of the Camelback Seventh-day Adventist Church, which puts one thousand backpacks, pairs of gloves, and copies of the book "Steps to Christ" directly into the hands of the homeless in Phoenix, AZ. God calls us to do what we can for those around us when He says in the book of Matthew,"Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." If you would like to join our familly in helping to distribute backpacks, gloves, "Steps to Christ" books, and most importantly share the love of Jesus with our communiy please fill out the submission form below. This will let us know that you are wanting to help, and will assist us in balancing out the needs at the different outreach locations. Spaces are limited, but Lord has always found a place for those that want to serve through this effort.
Below are the locations and times for this project, decide which location and time will work best for you. Please note how many spaces are still available for each site, we will do our best to accomodate all who are interested in helping. Once you sign-up a map to the location can be downloaded at the bottom of this page. Children are allowed to help with Backpacks for Christ, but are expected to be supervised at all times by the parent(s) or guardian who is bringing them to the project. There must be one adult per child under the age of 12.

Camping/Paintball Trip

April 21-22, Prescott, Arizona
Trip Details:
We will be leaving from TAA main parking lot by Good News TV building at 3pm, please be at the parking ready to go by 2:30pm. The cost of the event, transportation, and Sun breakfast / lunch is $35, please bring $35 with you in cash. If you need to rent a paintball marker the rental price for all weekend use is $15 including unlimited air refills + the cost of paintballs which is $15 for 1000. Again, bringing cash is much appreciated for rentals too. Saturday night and Sunday evening we will be stopping by a Taco Bell for dunner. Once at Camp Yavapines we will be camping in tents, if you have a tent please bring it. Plan on bringing the following as a packing list: Bible, pillow, sleeping bag, toiletries, and clothes for paintball play including closed toes shoes. Shower facilities will be available. Last thing...all participants need to print and fill out the medical release/permission form below and bring it with them. We are planning to return Sunday by 6pm. See you all Sabbath afternoon.

CYM is organizing their 7th Southen California Surf Trip for June of this summer. This is a great event filled with surfing, camping, service projects, beach time, team building, and personal time with Jesus. More details are on the "Events" page. There are only 18 student spots available for this trip, registration is open now! Fill out the registration form below. The cost of the trip is roughly $150 per person.
